BRIAN SHAW

Brian Shaw is an American Professional Strongman competitor and a four time World’s Strongest Man winner. Shaw is the only person to ever win all of the following competitions: World’s Strongest Man, Arnold Classic Strongman and America’s Strongest Man. Standing at 6’8” and weighing over 400 pounds/180 KG, he is also one of the largest athletes in the world.

Strongman career

After Brian finished playing basketball in college he shifted his focus to training harder and trying to get stronger. Without a competitive outlet something was missing and at this point Brian decided to enter a local Colorado Strongman competition without any formal strongman training. He won! From there he was hooked on Strongman and entered every competition he could, started training more specifically and began to build up his personal strongman equipment so he could train more specifically for the events. Brian set the goal of earning his pro card which he accomplished 7 months after his first contest. He then set the goal of becoming a good professional strongman and qualifying for his first World’s Strongest Man contest which he achieved in 2008. He then set his sights on winning the World’s Strongest Man which he achieved in 2011 and has been able to accomplish an additional 3 times in 2013, 2015 and 2016.

Mark Bell

I am sometimes known as JackAss from my days at elitefts.com or Smelly from the Sundance documentary Bigger, Stronger, Faster. I am a husband, a father of two, and the owner of Super Training Gym in Sacramento, CA. It’s one of the top 30 gyms in the country. There I coach a team of 20 competitive powerlifters. I am a World and American record holding pro powerlifter. I’ve squatted 1,025 lbs, benched 854 lbs, and deadlifted 755 lbs. My 2,551 lb total is the highest in California history.

Finally, I am the Southern Powerlifting Federation State Chairman. As Chairman, I run 3-5 meets a year in Northern California. We welcome lifters of any age, sex or experience level.

In lifting, coaching, business, and life in general, I’m always looking to improve myself and help others improve, too. I’ve noticed that people are either in or they’re in the way. There’s nothing in between.

Like the bodybuilding greats before him, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Lou Ferrigno, Mike holds 4 Mr. Universe titles and was voted one of the 12 greatest physiques of all time by the fitness industry. Mike has been Team Captain for Bodybuilding.com, and has just been signed to be the Team Captain of MAGNUM Nutraceuticals.
