Many of you know about the quote “Sweat is jut fat crying”, but is it actually true? Does sweating have anything to do with weight loss, and does more sweating equal more fat loss?

Well first we have to know that by sweating, our body prevents us from overheating and it’s another way to get rid of toxins. So when you’re sweating you are losing liquid from your body, water weight. That’s why you might be a pound or two lighter after an exhausting cardio workout or a trip to the sauna. But don’t get that confused with weight loss.

Many people go to saunas or overdress because of the exact same reason, they think that if they sweat more they’ll lose more weight, but that’s not the case.

So if getting your body in a warm state doesn’t work, what does? Getting your body in a cold state! When you’re in a cold state your body naturally tends to return to a normal body temperature and by doing that it burns calories, so taking cold showers for example, will help you burn more calories and thus make fat loss easier.
