Technique Tuesday: Shoulder Strength and Stabilization

Last week on Technique Tuesday, we gave an overview of what the Crossover Symmetry system is and why we choose to utilize it in our general training programs as well as rehab/prehab protocols with our members.

Today we want to walk through the Activation section of the system and cover each movement to ensure you are doing them properly. The activation portion can be done anytime, however, we recommend doing this every day before you begin training.

TIPS:

*Choose a band tension that allows you to move pain-free through a full range of motion without having to recruit large muscle groups. This is designed to strengthen your shoulder girdle and rotator cuff…go lighter and move well!

*Keep a neutral position: Keep your chin and rib cage locked down, don’t arch your back or use your bodyweight to move the bands. Think small.

*Be consistent! This will only take you several minutes to complete, do this Activation portion as many times in a week as you can.
